Tigers v Harro Pk

Ressies:

The young Tigers made it two straight and 3 from their last 4 with a hard fought 2-1 win over a tough Harro Pk at Tahmoor.

The opening half saw the Tigers struggle with a well drilled defensive Harro team and before long were trailing on the scoreboard via a set piece free that snuk past keeper Caldi.

The boys were horribly out of sync for the most part of the half with only a few sighters from Pom and a couple of incisive runs from Zac to speak of. The defense was tidy… Continue

EPL ratings: The Top 8 and notables

1. City-did what they set out to do; win the League. Looked gone with a handful of matches left but were tip top to close the season out.

We're disappointing in Europe and in the domestic cups so their rating slides a touch.

8/10.

Best: Silva, Kompany, Aguero, Hart

2. United: With only a few matches remaining and 8 points clear it looked for all money to be another EPL title following disappointment in the Cups. Sir Alex wouldn't be too happy, his standards are… Continue

Tigers v Eschol Pk

Ressies:

The mighty Tigers made it two wins in three last night in the cold depths of smokey Picton with a resounding 6-2 whomping of Eschol Park.

Despite dominating the opening stages the Tigers found themselves 1-0 down with only 10 minutes elapsed. Things were looking a touch ominous until Coach "shitlips" on the Eschol bench cried "now let's hammer these blokes, they don't want it". That lame call turned out to be prophetic, unfortunately for he, advice heeded by his… Continue

Tigers v Ruse

Ressies:In a match that can only be described as ugly, the Tigers came crashing back to earth after their midweek hiding of the Falcons with a last minute 2-1 loss to Ruse. The Tigers never got out of first gear, were ordinary across the park and payed the price in the end. After trailing 1-0 at the break the lads showed some fight to pull it back to 1-1 midway through the second half through a well taken strike from Nick. The game looked to be heading for a 1-1 stalemate but with literally the…See More

Tigers v Falcons: The Derby

Ressies:The new look Tiger reserves have taken a minute to gel, but under the bright lights on the slick pitch and in the local derby the lads hit their stride with a resounding 6-0 pasting of their cross town rival Falcons. The Tigers were dominant in all aspects with the backline of Leon, Fowler, Dodge and Clint laying a platform for Timmy, Ryan, Trent and Jim while the front 3 of Pom, Flem and Nick looked to shred the hapless Falcon backline..and shred they did!!!Nick kicked off the scoring…See More

Rd 3 v Gunners

1st Grade:Played superb footy in the opening half. Passing game was first class from Caldi and the backs through the mids and up front, the Gunners had no answer. The Tigers took the lead midway through the half with a well worked goal that started with Twiz who played an inch perfect pass down the line to Ryan Kearns, he in turn played a sharp pass to Daz who steadied and finished comfortably. The domination continued for the remainder of the half though only leading 1-0 was a little…See More

A Ninja Turtle, a Kardashian and Shaq #2

There's a few NBA players that I would love to see broke (and possibly on crack?) maybe that way they'd have a clearer perspective on life.Andrew Bynum for one; dude has had his best season to date (his 5 others were either injury ravaged or underwhelming), today for eg. he snared 30 boards in a win over the Spurs without Kobe!! Yet he carries on like a spoilt bitch! Whining to the media, disobeying coaching demands and generally fucking about when the opposite is required.Despite his uncanny…See More

Bron v Kobe v Mike v Russell??

Big game by LeBron today in a 98-93 win over the Thunder. LBJ had 34,10, 7 and 4! And for the second straight game he came up big in the 4th..Great to see!!It got me thinking..Lately I've been reading a bit about, and watching some old footage of Celtic legend Bill Russell. I picked up the Celtics Dynasty box set not ling ago and I'm slowly sifting through the years of winning in Beantown. I love that stuff, and I love comparing and analyzing the differences between now and then.On that note,…See More

M-League RND 2 v Minto

1st GradeDefended for most of the first half.Forced to defend from deep and counter attack. Defense proved rock solid though and Caldi was only forced to make 1 tough save.Second half was a terrific performance. Looked the far better side and enjoyed a host of guilt edge chances that were either squandered or saved. Unfortunatly Minto took the lead with a sloppy scrambled goal mouth effort mid way through the half. We fought back gamely though and continued to look the better side. A dubious…See More

2012 M-League. RND 1 v Narellan

1st grade.Dominated the opening half, looked solid in defense, controlled the middle third and tore them apart up front. Narellan looked void of answers. Super goal from Ga well laid on from Caldy right through to Harvs Snr and Jules... Chances a plenty, 1-0 up when we should've been 2 or 3.Second half dusty. Ran out of puff, got away from our structure.Conceded 3.3-1 loss.Best on ground: Wells, Twiz, Hally, Ryan H.Ressies:Owned the opening stanza, 3 or 4 one on ones with the score 0-0…See More

Mel and Lara

Ive been meaning to rep this pair for a spell now, and its high time that i got it done, so here it is....There are two women that have changed the landscape of Australian sport for the better, and I for one love it!!Lara Pitt and Mel McLaughlin.Lara is a tip top NRL aficionado, she gets the good mail and delivers it on time, she knows her shit and garners respect in a sport that makes it tough for a woman to infiltrate the inner circle.Male media in the NRL range from the fuckwittish to the…See More

"Hero Ball" v "The Right Play"

There's alot of talk in NBA circles at the moment about "Hero ball" as opposed to "the right play" (Henry Abbott, ESPN.com, today) in crunch time.Example, statistically Chris Paul is the games best crunch time player, because he makes the right basketball play, whether it be a shot, pass or drawing a foul, if it ends up a positive result it's "the right play".Conversely Kobe Bryant is statistically one of worst crunch time players. He shoots a poor percentage and generally will not pass it late…See More

The NRL Predictions for 2012

The top 8 will consist of (in no order):Canterbury: Dessie will take a minute to get the Dogs playing the way he wants but by seasons end they'll be well in the Finals mix. Expect Hodgkinson to be the big improver following an average 2011 effort.Manly: with Des gone expect a drop off in intensity and consistency but expect the Eagles to be in the dance come September...I'll predict a bottom half of the 8 slot for the 2011 Prems.Melbourne: Built for the regular season, just about the only…See More
